Seule la structure couvrant les quais a disparu, et la toiture du b\u00e2timent principal \u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 refaite.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" Ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 perc\u00e9 entre 1853 et 1855.<\/p>\n<p>En juin 1940, le tunnel est obstru\u00e9 c\u00f4t\u00e9 La Houblonni\u00e8re provoquant l&rsquo;interruption de la liaison ferr\u00e9e Paris-Cherbourg (extraits d&rsquo;un journal de juillet et ao\u00fbt 1940):<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>\u00ab\u00a0Les travaux du tunnel de la Motte.\u00a0 &#8211;<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 Comme nous l&rsquo;avons d\u00e9j\u00e0 dit, l&rsquo;entr\u00e9e du tunnel de la Motte, entre La Houblonni\u00e8re et Lisieux, a saut\u00e9 lors du recul des arm\u00e9es fran\u00e7aises. Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 obstru\u00e9e sur une longueur de 37 m. Plusieurs centaines de milliers de m\u00e8tre cubes de terre doivent \u00eatre maintenant enlev\u00e9s pour faire une tranch\u00e9e et une nouvelle entr\u00e9e du tunnel.\u00a0<\/em><em>Ces travaux ont \u00e9t\u00e9 confi\u00e9s par la S.N.C.F. \u00e0 des entreprises priv\u00e9es et se poursuivent sous le contr\u00f4le du g\u00e9nie militaire allemand. Actuellement plus de cent ouvriers y sont occup\u00e9s et les d\u00e9blais sont imm\u00e9diatement \u00e9vacu\u00e9s sur des wagons. Un d\u00e9lai maximum de deux mois a \u00e9t\u00e9 impos\u00e9. Par ailleurs, on proc\u00e8de \u00e0 la r\u00e9fection du pont de l&rsquo;entr\u00e9e de Lisieux, ce qui facilitera grandement, les relations par voie ferr\u00e9e entre Cherbourg, Caen et Paris. \u00a0\u00ab\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00ab\u00a0Dans le tunnel de la <\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Motte<\/strong><b>.\u00a0 &#8211;<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0 Les travaux de d\u00e9blaiement s&rsquo;y poursuivent activement. D\u00e8s \u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, du c\u00f4t\u00e9 o\u00f9 le tunnel a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9t\u00e9rior\u00e9, c&rsquo;est \u00e0 dire du c\u00f4t\u00e9 de Caen, le jour commence \u00e0 para\u00eetre et seule, la base de la masse \u00e9boul\u00e9e reste \u00e0 enlever. On esp\u00e8re que la circulation ferroviaire Paris Cherbourg va pouvoir reprendre bient\u00f4t normalement.\u00a0\u00bb<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Les travaux dur\u00e8rent 4 mois&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Et dans Ouest France du 29 septembre 2013:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab\u00a0<strong>Un tunnel strat\u00e9gique durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale<\/strong><\/em> &#8211;\u00a0<em>Pour \u00e9viter des attentats, des \u00ab Fran\u00e7ais ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9quisitionn\u00e9s jusqu&rsquo;en 1944 pour en assurer la garde, indique Maurice Dubois. Par roulement de 10 h \u00e0 minuit, puis de 0 h \u00e0 5 h. \u00bb Et puis, pour prot\u00e9ger les convois, \u00ab les Allemands mettaient une mitraillette sur la loco&#8230; Et des civils dans les wagons pour servir d&rsquo;otages. \u00bb\u00a0Au moment du D\u00e9barquement, o\u00f9 les combats faisaient rage dans la plaine de Falaise toute proche, le tunnel a \u00e9t\u00e9 bombard\u00e9 par des chapelets de bombes mais sans \u00eatre atteint. \u00ab Dans la nuit du 14 juillet, puis celle du 1<sup>er<\/sup> ao\u00fbt 1944, \u00e7a a \u00e9t\u00e9 incroyable, raconte Maurice Dubois. Un seul wagon a d\u00e9raill\u00e9. Il n&rsquo;y a pas eu d&rsquo;accident de personne. La premi\u00e8re partie du train est arriv\u00e9e seule \u00e0 Bayeux, le reste du convoi a \u00e9t\u00e9 refoul\u00e9 par un train de voyageurs qui suivait. Il en est r\u00e9sult\u00e9 un retard d&rsquo;une demi-heure pour l&rsquo;express de midi. Une enqu\u00eate est ouverte. Les d\u00e9g\u00e2ts mat\u00e9riels sont peu consid\u00e9rables.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Et en octobre 1917:<\/p>\n<p><em><b><strong>La rames en balade.\u00a0\u00a0&#8211;<\/strong><\/b>\u00a0\u00a0Dans la nuit\u00a0de jeudi \u00e0 vendredi, le train de Paris,\u00a0allait quitter Mesnil-Mauger quand le personnel de la gare fut averti qu&rsquo;une rame de wagons charg\u00e9s de cailloux, en d\u00e9rive par suite d&rsquo;une rupture d&rsquo;attelage, arrivait \u00e0 toute vitesse vers la gare. On gara le train de voyageurs sur une autre voie, pas assez vite cependant car les wagons, arrivant en trombe, prirent en \u00e9charpe le fourgon de queue et un wagon du train de Paris.\u00a0Deux voitures furent renvers\u00e9es et t\u00e9lescop\u00e9es. Par bonheur, on n&rsquo;eut pas de mort \u00e0 d\u00e9plorer ; cinq militaires bless\u00e9s seulement, dont un assez gri\u00e8vement. On les soigne \u00e0 l&rsquo;h\u00f4pital de Lisieux. De ces villages sinistr\u00e9s par les bombardements, il reste peu de chose. La gare d\u00e9truite en 1944 et reconstruite apr\u00e8s guerre a \u00e9t\u00e9 ras\u00e9e il y a quelques ann\u00e9es car trop proche des voies.
